I am thinking about converting a weed eater engine to fit on the boat. i do not however have very much experience in converting engines as i have never done it before. so before i get my hands on an engine, i want to find out how easy it is?. When looking for a homelite engine to use in a boat ,steer away from the 26cc mighty lite trimmer.it has a bad reputation with owners and is classified by most of them as junk.it has the slanted crankcase.also they are putting the same 26cc engine in a grey shrouded ryobi and it also has the slanted backcase.best to stay with the older homelites or the 30cc 4 port ryobi.. All the larger scale boats run 2 strokes similar to those found in 5th scale rc on/offroad stuff, but really if you're not after a ton of speed and want to build on the cheap, those high end motors are really just nicely ported higher revving weed whacker motors...
